Jessica Lea Mayfield New Haven Concert reviews
AWOL Bust it up in Buckeyeville
"Can anybody hear me?" You screamed at the end of the song. I started listening to Jessica Lea Mayfield when they were on people's choice on 89X. All that changed at about 9:35, Aaron & the boys quickly drove the claustrophobic atmosphere into that of a pressure cooker. "Not since Pear Jam 92' have I felt such energy in the mosh pit. Upbeat tunes like "People" & "Jump On My Shoulders" transformed into raging commands. I was a bit disappointed that they were booked in one of the smallest venues (but best) in the city. Aside from a minor sound problem, "Knights Of Shame" was all that you could have asked for (nice to see Aaron's got rhythm). Only a few and too far away last December. I picked up the EP and trolled the web for gig dates. & "Sail" secured it's place in the Anthem hall of fame. Then the Columbus gig was announced. & thank you mate. I'm heading back to London at the end of the month and was stoked when they added a June date in Hoxton. & "Guilty Filthy Soul" did exactly what they says on the label. As for Hoxton: "mf I will see you at the show." If there is any justice in the world, Jessica Lea Mayfield will be huge. Loud & Clear. See them, See them, See them."
